John Russell – crew

I am a 61 year old grandfather, and have practised as a solicitor in and
around Stroud, Gloucestershire for nearly 35 years. I am a British
citizen and resident. I am healthy and am fairly fit. I have always
been keen on sporting activities, running and swimming at school, rugby
until I was about 30, and since then skiing, canoeing, sailing, tennis
and walking. I have always been keen on mucking about in boats from an
early age, and now with my wife Sue I own a Wayfarer dinghy which we
race regularly in the UK, and I have also sailed in the Mediterranean. I
have been up in a hot-air balloon, and have flown a small plane and
several gliders (under tuition !)

Previous trips have been more land than sea based. I have driven
through a good deal of the US and right across from San Diego to New
England, in east and west Canada, through parts of east Africa and
through much of Europe.

John gave a good interview to BBC Radio Gloucestershire – listen HERE.
